Pucker up
A 27-year-old woman will pay just 1 yuan for a 70,000 yuan car after she won a car-kissing competition at a department store in Beijing recently.
Zhang Chunying held the pose on one foot, leaning in to kiss a car for 27 consecutive hours to beat 27 other contestants to the prize.
Pet 'hotels'
Pet "hotels" are springing up in Changsha, Hunan Province, offering to take care of pets while their owners are away from home.
One of the facilities charges a daily fee of 15 yuan per cat, while dogs are charged according to weight, with a dog weighing 50 kg charged 50 yuan per day, according to Xiao Huang, a pet hotel manager.
Services include daily meals, accommodation and outdoor exercise in the morning and evening for dogs. Bathing and grooming services are also available.
Rare furniture
Wooden furniture made from a rare type of wood grown in South China's Hainan Province is fetching prices of up to 34.88 million yuan at a fair in Guangdong Province.
The scarcity of huanghuali wood is pushing up prices, said Zhou Xinzhong, general manager of a Shenzhen-based furniture manufacturer.
Shoe size guru
Xiao Dan can tell a person's shoe size just by looking at their feet. She's honed this skill over the 16 years she's been selling shoes in a Dalian department store.
Xiao, 34, began working in shoe sales when she was 18. She said it took six years to refine her skill.
