We're in the frame in Vienna
An international photo exhibition featuring the life of ordinary Chinese people opened in Vienna on Monday.
More than 100 photographers from China and other countries contributed their works and the 150 photos on show were selected from a pool of thousands.
They reflected the social and economic development of China and the life, work, leisure and entertainment of ordinary people in addition to highlighting the 5,000-year Chinese civilization and the harmony among ethnic groups in China.
Li Yanfeng, vice-director general of the State Council Information Office of China, said that with the world's focus on the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and Expo2010 in Shanghai, the exhibition recorded the changes that were taking place in Chinese urban and rural life.
Showgirl joins Carrie's Sex pack
Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson (pictured) has joined the cast of Sex and the City: The Movie, which begins filming next week in New York.
Hudson will play the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw, in the film based on the hit HBO comedy series.
In July, the show's four leads, including Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, came aboard for the film after New Line Cinema agreed to finance and distribute it. Chris Noth also joined the cast to reprise his role as Mr Big.
Michael Patrick King is writing and directing.
Hudson, who won an Oscar for her supporting role in Dreamgirls, recently completed production on the ensemble drama Winged Creatures starring Kate Beckinsale, Forrest Whitaker, Jackie Earle Haley and Dakota Fanning. Sony is distributing the film.
Indiana Jones and the...
The battle to name the new Indiana Jones film is over, and the winner is The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Forget about Indiana Jones and the City of Gods or even Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds, two of the potential names registered by producers Lucasfilm Ltd. The next movie featuring the two-fisted adventurer will be called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Actor Shia LaBeouf, who has been cast to play Jones' son in the film, blurted out the title on stage at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards - only to have the news overshadowed by two former husbands of Pamela Anderson scuffling with each other and Britney Spears dancing barely clothed on stage.
But Lucasfilm, which is producing the fourth Harrison Ford (pictured) starring installment of the Indiana Jones series, was quick to confirm the new title on Monday.
The film is to be directed by Steven Spielberg and is slated for release in May 2008.
