New GM

Visteon Corporation, a global supplier of automotive systems, modules and components, has appointed Robert D Pyle as general manager of Yanfeng Visteon, its Chinese joint venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group), auto information website cn.gasgoo.com reported.

Before joining Yanfeng Visteon, Pyle was vice-president of ASIMCO Technologies, one of the largest independent producers of automotive components in China. Previously, he had worked in various finance and operating positions for Ford Motor and Visteon Corporation.

Council chairman

The APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) has appointed Jack Ma, chairman and CEO of Alibaba Group, as chairman of ABAC Action Plan and APEC Resources Working Committee.

The committee is supervising the implementation of ABAC actions as well as boosting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region.

Ma said he would devote himself to SME cooperation among APEC's 21 member economies during his one-year term.
