Driving guides

Giving directions has been turned into profitable business in Changsha, capital city of Central China's Hunan Province.

These "guides" usually wait in the city's outskirts and hail down cars to ask drivers if they are familiar with the city's roads or need help. The fees for this unique service range from 20 to 50 yuan. Wang, a veteran driver guide, said he can earn as much as 2,000 yuan per month. More and more local people are taking to this profession.

Biz Scene: Biz Unusual

A private company specializing in upholstery design in Chongqing has recently adopted a new policy that allows employees to ask for leave if their pets fall sick, Chongqing Evening News reported.

Staff members can also take their pets to see a vet during office hours. The company said there are more than 10 employees, seven of whom own pets.

The company's president, surnamed Tang, said he learned this management style from a British company and decided to implement it in his own company to enhance its human resources management.

Blog traffic

Many bloggers looking to increase their hits are finding out that an ad for as little as 2 yuan goes a long way in achieving this goal. For 2 yuan, bloggers can now post an ad on other blogs, a move that's proving to be very useful for many bloggers not satisfied with the traffic on their sites.
