China Textile City
Dongsheng Road Market: As the first textile market in Shaoxing, the Dongsheng Road Market has undergone renovation to upgrade its business environment. The first phase of renovation was concluded in December 2006 and the ongoing second phase project is expected to be complete by the end of 2008.
Kebei Garment Subsidiary Material Market: The construction of the Kebei Garment Subsidiary Material Market began in August 2006. The market is designed to become a comprehensive modern business and exhibition area to provide venues for garment trade, scientific and technological research and development, and large conferences and exhibitions.
Kedong Storage District: Covering an area of 50,000 sq m, a five-story storage building to be constructed in the district has been designed to provide logistic and storage service to China Textile City.
International Trade District: Located in the Keqiao new urban area, the International Trade District is designed to become a modern trade and business exchange center. The first phase of the project has been completed and is open for business. Its total floor area of 600,000 sq m houses Shaoxing Time Square, Wanguo Center, Yongli Tower, Shaoxing Guomao Building, Qinye Square, Fengxi Business Center and Foreign Trade Building. The second phase of the project is under construction and is likely to be complete by the end of this year.
Economic Development Zones
Shaoxing Coastal Industrial Zone: Located in northern Shaoxing, the zone is designed to cover 100 sq km. It will be divided into several functional areas, including an administrative center, an industrial area, a central trade and business district, an agricultural hi-tech industrial area and a tourism area. The first phase of the project, covering 23 sq km, is currently underway, and focuses on textiles, biomedical, fine chemicals, mechanical, electronics, IT and new material industries.
Shaoxing Keqiao Economic Zone: Approved by the Zhejiang provincial government in 1993, the Shaoxing Keqiao Economic Zone is a provincial-level development zone. It has been listed as one of the top 10 economic development zones in the province since 1998. It was the first economic zone to receive ISO14001 environment management certification. In the next five years, another 8 sq km is likely to be added to the zone to build a hi-tech industrial park. The zone has focused on the textile industry and has also developed projects related to the mechanical, electronics, food products, pharmaceuticals, chemical, construction material, logistics and finance sectors, as well as culture, tourism and exhibitions.
Business and services:
Diyang Business Street: As the major business street in Kecheng new urban area of the county, Diyang Street passes through the downtown area from north to south. A section of the street has been made a no-vehicle shopping area. The total sales volume of the business street is expected to reach 200 million yuan by 2012. The street aims to become a one-stop shopping destination.
Auto Service Street: Located at Qiantao Road, the Auto Service Street is expected to become the largest such street in the county with high quality services by 2012. The street is designed to have multiple functions, including auto display, sales, decoration, maintenance and consulting services.
Blue Sky Central Square: Construction of the square is expected to begin in April 2008, with October 2009 to be its likely opening day. With an investment of 600 million yuan, the square is designed to have total floor space of 150,000 sq m and aims to become a business and residential area with several supermarkets, large department stores, brand name shops, restaurants, recreational centers, and office and apartment buildings. The project has started to invite investment and seek business partners.
Lakeside Entertainment Zone: Located in the Guazhu Lake, Large Banhu Lake, Small Banhu Lake and Xinkai River areas, the lakeside entertainment zone is designed to cover 14.3 sq km and be an urban waterside recreational and residential zone. It will focus on building high quality residential areas, holiday resorts, star-level hotels, and sports and recreational centers.
Jianhu Lake and Keyan Rock Tourism Zone: The zone is a key tourism project under Zhejiang Province's 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-10). Located in the west of Shaoxing, the Jianhu Lake and Keyan Rock Tourism Zone constitute one of the top 10 holiday resorts in the province. Nestled in a mountainside with plenty of rivers and lakes, the tourist zone has a mild climate and four distinct seasons. With several historical and cultural sites, star-level hotels and recreational centers, the zone has attracted an increasing number of tourists in recent years. It attracted more than 3.5 million visitors in 2006, up 22 percent from the previous year. The total tourism revenue in the zone reached 3 billion yuan in 2006, up 29 percent from the previous year.
