Web history in book
Fang Xingdong, one of the pioneers of the "Internet revolution" in China, is leading a team writing a chronology of the cyber world. Their book, which is due to come out next year, will be titled History of the Internet in China and will be published by the CITIC Publishing House in Beijing. More than covering major events in cyber history, which is no more than two decades long in the country, the book will shed light on social changes in the three decades of reform and opening up. They will highlight the growth of online businesses, and include the emergence of hackers and the development of piracy.
