Premier's high hopes

Premier Wen Jiabao meets with Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), yesterday in Dalian.

Chinese companies could learn the latest business concepts and management methods from the first Davos meeting in China, said Wen.

The premier said the convening of the Summer Davos showed that WEF attached great importance to China and exhibited its strong wish to cooperate with the country.

Wen said he hoped the meeting could help Chinese companies take their place on the world business stage.

Schwab said China, the world's largest developing country, is playing a growing important role in the global economy.

He hoped the meeting could continue to be held in China in the future. Wu Zhiyi
