Center for international educational excellence

Education is the responsibility of the government and Malaysia is committed to providing sound education to all.
The Malaysian education system extends from pre-school to university level. Pre-tertiary education (pre-school to secondary education) is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education (MOE) while tertiary or higher education is the responsibility of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).
The vision of the government is to make Malaysia a center of educational excellence.
Malaysia's international education sector has gown tremendously during the past decade and the country is indeed fast becoming a center of educational excellence in the region, with more than 50,000 international students from more than 100 countries currently studying there.
Malaysia is proud to be a choice study destination that offers quality international education at an affordable cost.
Apart from being affordable, the reason why many students choose Malaysia is that they recognize the country to be an ideal destination for the development of their Asian network and relationship, and see their time there as a great opportunity to learn from Malaysia's great diversity, its rapid economic development and the peaceful and harmonious lives of its people.
The country is set to welcome 100,000 international students by the year 2010.
Higher education in Malaysia is provided by 18 public higher educational institutions (which include an international university), 27 private universities, four reputable foreign branch campus universities and more than 500 private colleges, as well as various other higher educational institutions from the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and New Zealand, which offer twinning and franchised degree programs through partnership with Malaysian colleges and universities.
The 34 international schools (American, Australian and British-style) and 14 expatriate schools, including the French, German and Japanese, have facilities for students from pre-school to upper secondary levels.
They provide parents with many options for affordable pre-tertiary international education.
Local and foreign students in pursuit of higher education would be spoilt for choice by the wide range of study options and variety of local and foreign universities at their disposal.
Further, the educational programs offered by Malaysia's private higher educational institutions (PHEIs) are of excellent quality and further strengthen the country's position as a center for educational excellence in the Asia-Pacific.
