Emmy censors 'will be busy'
Carlos Mencia and his feisty brand of humor will be front and center next month at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The comic, who stars in Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia, has been tapped to host the September 8 event, the show's executive producers, John Moffitt and Lee Miller, announced on Monday.
"Carlos will keep everyone in the audience on the edge of his or her seat - especially the censor. We're thrilled to work with him," said the show's producer, Spike Jones Jr, in a statement.
Emmys in 75 categories, including art direction, costume design, makeup and guest acting, will be handed out during the ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium here.
The show is slated to air on September 15 as a two-hour special on the E! cable channel, a day before the Primetime Emmy Awards are broadcast live on Fox.
Aniston with Brad, again?
History has repeated itself for movie star Jennifer Aniston; she is dating a hunky actor named Brad.
The Friends actress, 38, enjoyed a candlelit dinner date with Bradley Cooper, 32, after the match-up was suggested by mutual friend and actress Drew Barrymore.
And in another uncanny coincidence, Cooper is soon to be divorced from another actress named Jennifer - Crash star Jennifer Esposito, whom he split from in May after just five months of marriage.
A source close to Aniston said, "Jen was amazed and laughing at the fact that they might have been in a Twilight Zone scene about parallel worlds colliding."
Aniston was married to Brad Pitt for four years before divorcing in 2005.
Hats off for the dapper Ashton Kutcher
Since leaving the trucker hat behind and marrying Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher's fashion sense has taken a turn for the better.
Kutcher, the face of 2003's trucker hat fad, dispenses sartorial tips for couples in an essay in the September issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine, now on newsstands.
"Guys don't like to be told they look nice, pretty or cute, or that they clean up well," the 29-year-old actor says.
"So when your guy finally tries on something that you like, tell him that he looks like James Bond or Tony Montana," he writes. "Feel free to be even more vague than that: 'Wow, that suit makes you look like that hot football player'"!
Kutcher, who got his break on Fox network's That '70s Show, is often photographed on the arm of the stylish Moore, 44. The couple wed in September 2005.
"Trust me, say any of this and you won't be able to get him to take the damn suit off," he says. "Before you know it, he'll be wearing an Armani tux to league night at the bowling alley."
His advice for women: "You never want people to notice your accessories. ... In this same way, your man should not upstage you. He is there to highlight you."
"Make sure the look isn't too matchy-matchy. ... Your best bet is to match the man gear to that great new Balenciaga bag that you're planning to carry. If your bag works with your outfit, so will he."
Kutcher, who hosted MTV's Punk'd prank show, has starred in films such as Dude, Where's My Car? and The Guardian. He also appeared in last year's Bobby, co-starring Moore.
