Looking to ensure freedom from fraud

Retail Decisions, a specialist supplier to the payments industry with some 300 employees and clients across six continents, is a leading supplier of fraud prevention technology with a particular focus on the "card-not-present" market. It works with retail giants such as Tesco, Macy's and Sears on a global basis from its main centers of operation in London, the United States and Australia.

Retail Decisions provides customers with its expertise to counter the increasing risk of fraud, allowing clients to focus on other important aspects of business, where their true expertise lies.

When companies tackle fraud prevention on their own, many have turned away more business than needed, as in-house operations have not been as accurate, sophisticated or discerning in detecting spurious transactions as experts in the field.

"Through our proprietary technology, we reduce our clients' fraud levels to acceptable international standards. When a company begins working with us, it immediately realizes an increase in 'good' transactions, which in turn more than pays for the service we provide," says CEO Carl Clump.

Six years ago, the company opened operations in Australia, largely to establish a foothold in the Asia Pacific market.

And with the coming of the Beijing 2008 Olympics, Clump sees that China has an increased need for fraud protection and recognizes the huge potential of the market.

"When there is a large scale event, we have seen a spike in fraud. People take advantage of the opportunity.," Clump points out.

Because of a growing need for fraud prevention in the Chinese market, Retail Decisions hopes to bring its expertise and services to the country and is actively looking for partners.

"We understand that in order to have any success in China you need partners. We are interested in working with companies who share our goals for success. Right now, we are successfully working with China Union Bank and look forward to building further relationships with Chinese partners," he comments.
