Woman survives 15-floor death plunge
A middle-aged woman in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, miraculously survived a 15-floor death plunge on Monday and is now in hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
The 50-plus woman Wu jumped out of a 15th floor window in a suicide bid but her fall was broken by laundry line brackets on the 3rd and 8th floors. She finally landed on a protruding rain-proof shelf on the first floor.
Police and a medical team rushed to the spot and sent her to hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors said Wu was still not out of danger.

New 1.6m ambulance doubles as op room
Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, has acquired a Benz ambulance vehicle that can double as a well-quipped operation room in case of emergencies.
Costing 1.6 million yuan ($210,000), the ambulance is spacious and functions like a mobile intensive care unit, said doctors. It is the first of its kind in the district and is expected to go into operation soon.

Family that eats together stays together
At a time when it is rare to find three generations of a family get together for one meal, even on occasions such as the spring festival, all 24 members of a family in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, have been eating together every day for the past 28 years.
Zhao Dinghong is the one up the earliest to start preparations for lunch. At noon, all the members of his family and those of his brother gather at three tables for the meal. The younger women then do the clean-up as the men settle down to make small talk.
Zhao said he had never once resented the work involved and added that the family looked forward to the meals.

Stolen dog smells its way back to owner
A pet dog in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, smelled its way back to its owner on Tuesday, one month after it was stolen and sold.
The owner Huang said she purchased the pure breed in Beijing for 5,000 yuan ($658), three years ago. She cherished it and carried it around every day, even when she was on business. But a month ago, thieves broke into Huang's home and carted away the dog as also some jewels.
On Tuesday, the dog ran up to Huang near a railway station, with a woman in hot pursuit. She claimed to be the dog's owner, but when questioned by police, admitted that she knew the dog was stolen and that she had bought it at a low price recently.

Woman's breast goes bust after bee sting
A woman in Taiwan lost the fullness of her bosom after a bee stung her artificially-enlarged breasts and broke the saline filled breast implant.
The woman, who went in for breast-enlargement surgery three years ago, was stung recently when she passed by a field. Two days later, she was shocked to find that her right breast had flattened out. Doctors told her that the salt-water bag embedded in her breast had broken and all the water had leaked out.
