Juniors vie for dream spot at China Open

China's future golf stars will tee off at the third Volvo China Junior Championship in the Golden Elephant Golf Club from October 2-5 , knowing a dream spot in the 2008 Volvo China Open is at stake.

The country's leading 32 juniors aged between 15 and 17 will compete for the title of champion and the right to play with the game's best open players.

As with junior championships in the world's major golfing countries, this year's Championship will remain in the exciting match play format. Up to 32 players, who are either among the top eight in CGA's latest junior ranking for different age categories or are invited by the committee, will compete in the Championship's four groups - boy's and girl's group A (age 15-17) and Group B (age 11-14).

Automatic China Open qualification for the Champion of the Boy's Group A will give the event a big boost this year.

As in the past, champion of the Girl's Group A will be invited to play in the Pro-Am of the 2008 Volvo China Open.

Invitational for charity wraps up in Beijing

The Sixth Club International Golf Invitational was held at the Beijing Tianzhu Golf & Country Club at the weekend.

The tournament invited government officials, business tycoons from home and abroad and other A-listers to raise money for charity.

Organized by The Sixth Club, an exchange platform for international businessmen and the Bank of China, the event helped collect a large sum of money.

All donations have been presented to the China Children & Teenagers' Fund.
