Britney is not OK, says tabloid
Britney Spears has spilled her story to OK! magazine. In a statement to celebrity news website TMZ, OK! Editor-in-Chief Sarah Ivens said the magazine had "spent a heartbreaking day with Britney Spears and witnessed first-hand an emotional cry for help that will leave you shocked and sad".
"This week, on newsstands on Friday, the truth will be told," Ivens said.
The statement was posted on Tuesday on TMZ's website. A day earlier, TMZ said it had "learned that Britney's self-arranged photo shoot and interview with OK! Magazine was a complete disaster" and that her behavior during the interview was "nothing less than a meltdown".
OK! publicist Brian Strong said the magazine wouldn't publish photos of Spears from the shoot due to legal reasons. He said OK! would deliver "a very real account" of its interview with the 25-year-old singer.
The Associated Press was attempting to locate a representative for Spears.
Earlier this month, Spears apologized for attacking a photographer's car with an umbrella in February, saying at the time she was preparing to try out for a movie part and got carried away.
The incident took place during the same period in which Spears shaved her head, got new tattoos and was seen partying hard in Los Angeles clubs.
Bourne to be a corny clown
Would Jason Bourne dress up as a gas pump for a YouTube video? Probably not. But Matt Damon, who plays him on the big screen, is willing to look silly when it comes to raising awareness about global warming.
Damon, who reprises his action role in the upcoming The Bourne Ultimatum film, sports the getup during a one-minute cameo in a video that is part of a series called Clean My Ride, Flex My Fuel.
The 36-year-old actor along with Ben Affleck (pictured), Jennifer Garner, Sarah Silverman and Joshua Jackson are lending star power to a new campaign aimed at putting pressure on lawmakers to require service stations to sell corn-based ethanol for flexible-fuel cars.
"Come on, Congress," Damon says in the video. "Come on, big oil. Mandate cleaner cars and cleaner fuel. Flex fuel. A little bit of corn and a pinch of can-do attitude is all it takes. And kids love it too. Yippee!"
He then sends up his action-star image, punching out a guy for asking him to do a little dance. "I feel like I'm being 'Punk'd,'" he jokes.
The series of five-minute videos, produced by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, a think tank based in Washington, also show Affleck - Damon's longtime friend - dressed as an ear of corn and vowing to bring down "big oil".
Was drunken Moore out of his mind?
Actor Shemar Moore was sentenced to probation and community service after pleading no contest in an alcohol-related speeding case, officials said on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old star of the CBS series Criminal Minds was arrested June 1 after being stopped by the California Highway Patrol driving faster than 65 mph on a city street, officials said.
He was charged on June 22 with driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent or above, city attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan said.
As part of a plea deal, Moore pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of exhibition of speed, and the DUI charges were dropped, Mateljan said.
