Jackson scouts Maryland vacation homes
Michael Jackson has been hunting for real estate on Maryland's Eastern Shore as he searches for a vacation home, a publicist for the pop star said.
The self-proclaimed King of Pop visited the rural peninsula last week "for about 24 hours", but has not made a purchase, Raymone Bain told The Washington Post.
Jackson, 48, is not limiting his search to the Chesapeake region. He has since "gone up the coast" to look elsewhere for a vacation place, Bain said.
"He's always admired the properties on the East Coast, because they have a lot of land," Bain said in the story published Wednesday. "Neverland has 3,000 acres; he likes privacy. You can't find as many properties like that on the West Coast."
Jackson came east with his children about 10 days ago for meetings, because "the majority of his advisers and attorneys are on the East Coast", Bain said.
She would not elaborate on the purpose of the meetings, but said that Jackson was dealing with "a laundry list" of issues. "He's head of a vast corporation," Bain said.
Everwood actress Niznik game forWild
Stephanie Niznik (pictured right), best known for her role on Everwood, will star in the CW's upcoming drama series Life Is Wild.
The show centers around a New York veterinarian (D.W. Moffett) and his second wife (Niznik) - a beautiful and rich corporate lawyer - who move to a South African game preserve with their two sets of children.
The roles of both parents were recast. Niznik replaces Judith Hoag, who played the role in the pilot; Moffett recently took over from Brett Cullen.
Niznik is best known for her role as Nina Feeney, the neighbor and confidante of Andy Brown (Treat Williams) on Everwood. She most recently appeared in the 2-hour Grey's Anatomy episode that introduced the spinoff series Private Practice.

Hynde, lead singer of the Pretenders and Akron native, will sing accompanied by an acoustic guitarist at a free concert at the grand opening of the upscale restaurant on September 15.
The restaurant will feature a blend of Mediterranean and vegetarian cuisine. No meat will be served.
Hynde, who lives in England, has brought in a Canton restaurateur as a partner in the venture.
