Hong Kong shows off its versatile style
The 2007 Style Hong Kong fair staged at Beijing's World Trade Center from Wednesday to Friday showcased the SAR's creative side. And it further demonstrated Hong Kong's global position as a melting pot of Eastern and Western elements set against a unique background.
Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the fair, which was themed "creation, style, business opportunities," attracted 95 companies from Hong Kong's fashion, creative and entertainment industries.
"Hong Kong's talents in design and creation are consistently on the forefront," said Raymond Yip, assistant executive director of TDC. "They are not only leading the trend but also take market demands into consideration to create the cutting-edge and unique products."
Exhibitors presented fashion and lifestyle products, including accessories, fur fashion articles, footwear, handbags, leather goods, watches, jewelry, gifts and electrical appliances.
Also present were many renowned fashion brands, such as Aitch K, BYPAC, ICECUBE, Pacino Wan, Moreline, Koyo Jeans, Koyo William Cheung, GOV Jewelry and Trixie.
Fringe events such as mini fashion or product parades and topical seminars complemented the exhibits.
Wednesday night's activities included a special fashion night, which showcased the cutting-edge creations of the eight Hong Kong fashion designers, including Anita Huen, Chow Tan Tan, Mandy Cheng, Lee Ho, Hin Lee, Harrison Wong, Yeung Shiu Cheung and Otto Tang.
