China beat South Korea in Champions Challenge
Tang Chunling's winning goal in the second half gave China a 2-1 victory over South Korea in the final of the AtaHolding Champions Challenge on Sunday, and also guaranteed the nation a place in the 2008 Champions Trophy competition.
Korea dominated the early stages of the first half, putting together some excellent attacks. However, it was China who took the lead in the 12th minute, when Ma Yibo took full advantage of her team's first penalty corner, drag-flicking low into the bottom left corner.
Korea's tournament top scorer Cheon Seul Ki, equalized the score in the 30th minute, flicking the penalty corner high into the roof of the goal.
China came out stronger in the second half and hard work paid off in 61st minute as Tang stroke the pass from Gao Li Hua into the net.
