Shevchenko keen on US move at career's end
LONDON: Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko revealed Monday that he would like to fellow in the footsteps of Real Madrid's David Beckham and play in the United States before the end of his career.
The Ukrainian, who missed Chelsea's FA Cup victory over Manchester United Saturday because of a groin injury, has failed to reproduce the kind of form which justified his record 30-million-pound signing from AC Milan in May 2006.
But as Beckham prepares to head for Los Angeles Galaxy, the 30-year-old Shevchenko revealed that he too would like to try his hand on the other side of the Atlantic.
"I'd like to play there, actually," Shevchenko told Sports Illustrated.com.
Robson named Sheffield United manager
LONDON: Former England and Manchester United captain Bryan Robson was confirmed as manager of relegated Sheffield United yesterday.
The appointment comes a week after Neil Warnock's resignation last week following United's relegation from the Premier League on the last day of the season.
At a brief news conference at United's Bramall Lane stadium Robson, 50, said: "I've got a good group of players here and with a bit of fine tuning we can get back to where this club belongs.
Robson has been out of the game since he left second division West Bromwich Albion by mutual consent in September after they had been relegated the season before.

Kenton County, Kentucky, attorney Gary Edmondson had earlier said that Henry tested positive for opiates and would be forced to serve 88 days in jail.
Meanwhile, the team released linebacker A.J.Nicholson on Monday, hours after he pleaded innocent to charges of domestic violence.
