Zhou's double dose of a Ming Ming melody

Who's inBudding mainland actress Zhou Xun has released a new song called Look, which is the theme song of her latest movie Ming Ming. Anthony Wong, veteran Hong Kong singer/composer, wrote the song and sings with Zhou. He describes the song as a combination of post-punk and traditional Chinese music.

Zhou plays two different roles in the new movie, which premiers on April 26. It features martial arts, romance, rock 'n' roll and cartoon elements, said Zhou. This is the second time Zhou played two roles in one movie after Suzhou River (Suzhou He) in 2000.

But Zhou considers the two pictures are different. In the first film she plays two sides of one girl's personality, but in the current flick, the two heroines are totally different persons.

Glowing Sun can hear wedding bells this year

Who's inTV and movie star Sun Li hopes to soon marry to her actor boyfriend Deng Chao despite rumors the two had broken up.

"We decided to tell the public of our relationship from the very beginning to avoid media's publicity," said Sun, 25, who says she has been in love with Deng for one year.

However, there were rumors the two had split after Deng had been seen with another girl. "Deng lets me believe in marriage and I am happy everyday. If possible, I hope I can get married with Deng this year."

Sun plays as the leading actress in a TV series remade from Hong Hong's The Bund.

Yesterday the new TV series was launched in Hunan's movie channel.

Charity champ Kidman wins Aussie honors

Who's inAcademy Award winner Nicole Kidman received an Australian government honor on Friday, saying it made her parents more proud than winning Oscar. The elegant strawberry blonde was appointed a "Companion in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AC)" at a ceremony at Government House in Canberra. With country-crooner husband Keith Urban, a fellow Australian by her side, Kidman ditched red-carpet glamor for a demure pink frock to receive her award from Governor-General Michael Jeffery. She was given the honor for her contribution to the arts and her charity work.

"I think the great thing about you, Ms Kidman, is what have you have done to better the human condition," the governor-general said.

With her parents Janelle and Antony in the audience, Kidman said they were more proud of this latest award than her Oscar for portraying Virginia Woolf in The Hours.

"It's a pat on the back, which as a little girl is something I think you dream of," she said.

Madonna visits son's African orphanage

Who's inMadonna was expected to arrive in Malawi yesterday to visit the orphanage from which she adopted a 1-year-old boy last year, a top official said.

Madonna will inspect an orphanage being built in Mphandula Village, just outside the capital Lilongwe, that she is helping to fund, as well as the Home for Hope orphanage from where she adopted David Banda six months ago, the official said.

The singer's spokeswoman says she has no plans to adopt another child although media reports suggest Madonna plans to adopt a young girl.

An official from the Home for Hope said she was not sure whether David would accompany Madonna but confirmed she was expected there yesterday.
