By Te Kan | China Daily | Updated: 2007-04-14 06:57

Textile Days India, a combination of three major events - Heimtextil India, Texworld India and Techtextil India - is a complete trade show that brings the global textile industry together in a grand marketing gala.

To be held in Mumbai from October 10-13 and organized by Messe Frankfurt India, Textile Days is the most eagerly awaited show in a region where the fortunes of textile manufacturers have never looked this good, given the favorable conditions that surround it.

India is naturally one of the most important destinations for the world textile industry. The textile sector is the country's second largest after agriculture, providing direct employment to about 35 million people. It is also India's largest foreign exchange earner, accounting for 35 percent of the country's gross export earnings.

The global market for Indian apparel and textiles is worth about $47 billion. By 2010, that market size is expected to grow to $95 billion, while the domestic market size will be close to $45 billion (as per a 2004 Crisil Study). India's market share in the world textiles trade is poised to grow from 3 to 6 percent.

Against this background, Messe Frankfurt has provided the industry with a complete textile event that is perfectly poised to attract global attention.Special Supplement: Textile Days India: A global marketing mega-event

In 2006, the interesting combination of two fairs on home textiles and apparel fabrics brought in 12,246 visitors from nations and regions like Italy, Spain, the United States, Germany, France, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and East Asia.

A total of 318 exhibitors from 15 nations showcased their products and conducted business. With the inclusion of Techtextil India, both exhibitor and visitor levels are expected to increase substantially.

Textile Days India 2007 will provide a fresh impetus to the fast developing Indian textile industry. A trend-oriented atmosphere with high levels of interaction among global decision makers provides a perfect business setting in the textile capital of the country.

International trend forums, seminars and innovative presentations will be the highlights of the event, while a two-day conference on technical textiles will be the main attraction of Techtextil India, which is slated to draw mainly international participation.

Heimtextil India

Heimtextil India is an international trade fair for home textiles and accessories.

It covers the widest product range in the home textiles industry, from furniture fabrics, bed linen, bath linen, table and kitchen linen, accessories and floor coverings, to wall and window decoration.

Now in its eighth year, Heimtextil India is acknowledged as the most valuable business platform in the region for the home fashion industry. International visitors looking for quality home products from India with unique presentations earmark the show as a "must- attend" business event each year.

One highlight of the show is Gunnar Frank's trend forecast for the home. A large and affluent consumer market looking for new and high quality home fashion finds the trends and products at Heimtextil India extremely attractive.

Hence, Heimtextil India not only provides international buyers with business opportunities, but also provides international manufacturers with a lucrative selling platform to tap the booming domestic consumer market.

Texworld India

Texworld India is an international trade fair for apparel fabrics and accessories.

A highly successful debut in 2006 marked Texworld India as an exceptional meeting point for the global apparel fabric industry. Texworld India spans the entire fabric spectrum for the industry, covering premium cotton, denim, linen, silk, knits, embroidery and lace, and wool, along with functional fabrics, yarns and fibers, trims, and accessories.

The fair showcases an incredible array of the finest clothing fabric and accessories enhanced by instances of unsurpassed Indian creativity

A specially created trend show T.W.I.S.T by Ornella Bignami is the highlight of Texworld India, offering insights into the fashion world that the Indian industry is eager to learn about. Innovation, creativity and inspiration are the buzzwords of Texworld India.

Techtextil India

Techtextil India is an international trade fair for technical textiles and non-wovens.

The world famous Techtextil brand will premiere in India with a professional trade event to help its exhibitors tap the full potential of this relatively unexplored market.

Juxtaposed against the conventional markets of home and apparel, this debut event will provide the industry with a unique opportunity for business in a sector that is poised for explosive growth.

It will showcase many areas and applications of technical textiles and scientific innovation, over the product groups of fibers and yarns, woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, coated textiles, technology, machinery, accessories and others.

Commenting on the event, Shammi Nagpal, managing director of Messe Frankfurt India said: "We have great expectations in 2007. The Indian industry is ready for business in almost every sector and our fairs will provide the right impulses and influence they need at this hour with a perfect trio of individual fairs that focus on the home, apparel and technical textiles. The entire textile industry benefits from such a meeting point."
