Home of the heart

Reviews: CDLin Yaohui, a Yi minority singer/songwriter, has released her second album Hometown, which features 10 songs she has written over the past two years. The album is a tribute to her beautiful hometown, Honghe, a prefecture in Southwest China's Yunnan Province.

Reminiscent Melody, My Beautiful Hometown and The Happy Songs of the Yi People features songs about daily life in Yi's village. Hani's Drum Song is based on the ethnic melody of the Hani minority and Mum's Care tells how hard a mother brings up the children.

Lin loved singing when she was a little girl in a Yi village, winning many awards in the local singing contests. From 1999 to 2003 she learned music at the Arts Academy of People's Liberation Army.

Her latest work, Spread Friendship to the World, has been chosen to promote the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The MTV of the song features a dozen Chinese Olympic gold medalists such as Liu Xuan and Mo Huilan.
