Russian Rush for China
This year, hard-lined, bright-colored propaganda posters are in again, as a Chinese tribute to the 2007 Year of China in Russia. The posters inspire memories of the aid given by Russia when China was striving to spark development and almost represent the ties between the two countries in the 1950s. These posters will be on exhibition in late April, at Gallery K in Factory 798, Dashanzi.
The Year of China in Russia opened on March 26 in Moscow, echoing the 2006 Russian Year in China that was inaugurated during President Hu Jintao's visit to the country.
During the Year of China in Russia through 2007, over 200 activities will be launched, including a series of campaigns to boost bilateral cultural and economic cooperation. The just-ended China National Exhibition 2007 in Moscow saw a multi-billion yuan contract signed; and a Forbidden City treasure exhibition has just been unveiled at the Great Kremlin Palace on March 29 which will continue till June.
