More men report sexual harassment in workplace

China Daily | Updated: 2007-03-19 06:48

WASHINGTON: A record number of men reported being sexually harassed in the workplace last year, according to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Newly released data from the EEOC showed that 15.4 percent of the 12,025 charges of sexual harassment in fiscal year 2006 were filed by men, as opposed to 11.6 percent a decade earlier.

Although the data released does not indicate whether the harassers were male, typically that is the case, experts say.
