Homeless man writes long linguistics project

Professors at Wuhan University are reviewing a 100,000-character Chinese linguistics project recently completed by a homeless man in Hankou, Hubei.

After the project is reviewed, it will be published. Dai Tianquan, 46, showed great interest in studying the Chinese language when he was in senior middle school. Even though he was denied entry into any university, Dai continued to study at home. He ran away from home after being scolded by his family for being gluttonous and lazy. Dai returned to Wuhan two years ago and made money by collecting scraps.
