British singer Robbie Williams is having treatment in the United States for dependency on prescription drugs, his spokeswoman said yesterday.

Spokeswoman Bryony Watts did not identify the clinic that is treating Williams, 33.

"Robbie has today been admitted into a treatment center in America for his dependency on prescription drugs," she said. "There will be no further comment on this matter."

Williams has been in rehab centers before, including a stay in Britain's well-known Priory center.
