The Internet Plus policy has helped Gree Electric Appliances Inc, one of China's biggest home appliance companies, reduce costs and increase profits, says its president, Dong Mingzhu.

Dong says that Gree started using the Internet in their management since 1995, and the technology has gradually become incorporated in the company.

"I think the Internet doesn't only belong to one certain industry, it belongs to all people who want to innovate," she says. "The Internet not only saves us cost, but also helps us enter the age of automation. We have better control of the products' quality and other things because of it."

Dong says that while there's been an economic slowdown in 2015, and Gree's sales volume has also reduced, she is still happy, because the company's profit rate reached 12 percent, while three years ago, it was only 7 percent. And she attributes the success to the Internet.

Dong , also an NPC delegate, says the government report has a sentence about 'Made in China+ Internet', which means the manufacturing sector is very important.

"If we don't have it as the base, everything on it is unstable. But if manufacturing has been connected with the Internet, it will be like a tiger that has wings. When Gree made a sales volume of about 80 billion yuan, we had about 100,000 workers. But when we made it to 140 billion yuan, we had only about less than 80,000 workers. This change in numbers also indicates the change of the times."
