Cracks appearing in the financial center of Shanghai have been repaired and the situation is under control, Shanghai Morning Post reported on Friday, citing a report issued by the constructor company of Shanghai Tower.

The 10-meter-long crack appeared at an exit of the Shanghai World Financial Center opposite the Shanghai Tower, which is under construction, and measures more than 10 cm at its widest, the paper said.
After the photos were posted online, safety concerns were raised among the public. “The crack is due to the loose earth of Shanghai. It is safe as long as the buildings are showing signs of inclining,” the paper said, quoting industry insiders, who suggested the evaluation should involve a third party.
