BEIJING - A strong cold front will sweep central and east China over the next three days, bringing temperatures down, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Tuesday.

Temperatures will plunge four to eight degrees Celsius in the country' s central and eastern regions. East Inner Mongolia and the central and northern part of northeast China will see temperatures drop more than 10 degrees Celsius, the NMC said.

Snow will fall on northeast China and continue in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

NMC asked relevant parties to strengthen forest fire prevention efforts and urged transportation authorities to prepare for the inconveniences brought by the cold weather.
