2 HK tourists dead, 38 injured in road accident

CHANGCHUN - A bus carrying tourists from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region overturned in Northeastern Jilin province, killing two and injuring 38 others, including two severely, on Friday, local government said.

The accident happened around 3 pm in the city of Yushu, when a bus heading from Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, to the city of Jilin, overturned into a roadside ditch after rubbing with a farm vehicle, said a Yushu government official.

The bus carried 38 tourists from Hong Kong, of whom two died, two sustained serious injuries and 34 others were slightly injured. Two on the farm vehicle were also slightly injured, the official said.

The two severely injured have been sent to a hospital in Harbin, while others were admitted to two local hospitals in Yushu. None of the injured are in critical condition.
