WUHAN - Police in the Central Chinese city of Wuhan said Wednesday they have identified a 24-year-old man as the suspect in a downtown explosion that killed two and injured 15 others on Dec 1.
The suspect, Wang Haijian, a native of Zaoyang city in Hubei province, remains at large, according to the public security bureau of Wuhan.
Earlier this week, police posted Wang's photo as well as a reward for information leading to his arrest.
Police said Wang was captured by the surveillance camera near a China Construction Bank (CCB) branch in the Hongshan district, outside of which an unidentified object set off a powerful blast at about 5:30 pm.
Two bystanders were killed in the explosion, which also injured 15 people, including bank employees and security guards. The bank, an adjacent drugstore and several vehicles parked nearby were also damaged in the blast.
