The Knorr-Bremse Group, the world's leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles, will participate in the Metro China Beijing 2011 in China International Exhibition Center from Nov 1 to 4.
Under the motto of "Efficient Technology Worldwide", the Knorr-Bremse in booth B228 will present a range of state of the art products combined with superior quality and a high degree of innovation.
The company has established six manufacturing companies in China, including wholly owned foreign enterprise and joint ventures, and it is one of the largest suppliers of Chinese Railways.
An extensive products ranging from electronic control systems, pneumatic control, air supply and auxiliary equipment (for example sanding systems) to hydraulic braking systems will be presented in the exhibition.
For metros and multiple units, Knorr-Bremse will present the EP2002 Cube brake control system, a further development of the tried-and-tested EP2002 braking system with an additional integrated control module.
The mechatronics system, which combines mechanical and electronic elements in a single, ultra-compact unit, not only has emergency brake functions but also offers additional pneumatic functions for the parking brake and air suspension. As a result there is no need for any additional or separate control panel.
The LTZ Dual-chamber Air Dryer Units to be exhibited could dry compressed air to an insignificant residual level by preventing moisture getting into the compressed air systems, in case it leads to the malfunctioning of pneumatic equipment or premature wearing as a result of corrosion and freezing.
Another product to be showcased at Metro China consists of the platform screen gate systems manufactured by Knorr-Bremse's subsidiary Westinghouse. Such systems are increasingly demanded in metro stations all over the world as they considerably improve passenger safety and could control the flows of passengers.
The doors are 1.6 meters high and are currently being installed in platforms on Singapore Metro as part of a major project. Knorr-Bremse's subsidiary, Merak, is one of the largest suppliers of railway vehicle air-conditioning systems with 50 years of experience in the air-conditioning industry.
The show of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units used in high speed trains will give audiences a clear look of the equipment that offer secure and durable performance, with service-proven components operating at high-level efficiency as well as the usage of environmentally-friendly refrigerant R407c and microprocessor-based controls.
Knorr-Bremse will also showcase its efficient solutions for the aftermarket segment, or the rail services. It will present a broad portfolio of services ranging from original parts to service contracts and lifecycle responsibility for entire systems. It will illustrate how products can be overhauled in such a way that they end up in an as-new condition with a similar warranty as for new parts.
Some of the many Knorr-Bremse technological products that will be displayed include: The Centrifugal Fan that is complementing a series of product for Microelettrica and opening new opportunity for cooling fan market, a range of resistors such as brake, damping, snubber, filter, charging and discharging resistors, and the high-speed circuit breaker type IR2000 series for substation used to protect electrical circuits from their failure to ground.
