BEIJING - China and Russia held their sixth round of strategic security talks in Beijing on Thursday, exchanging views on bilateral relations and major international and regional issues of common concern.
Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev co-chaired the talks, according to a written statement issued by Chinese Foreign Ministry.
The statement said that the two sides will comprehensively implement the consensus reached by both leaders in June this year.
The two countries will persistently increase political mutual trust, push forward the China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, safeguard their sovereignty, security and development interests, and promote world peace and stability, it said.
China-Russia strategic security talks were initiated by leaders of the two countries in 2005.
