BEIJING - Top political advisor Jia Qinglin has stressed the need to care for China's children and teenagers.

In a congratulatory letter to a meeting of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) on Wednesday, Jia said that the foundation should adapt to the new developmental needs of China's youth in a bid to promote the welfare, culture and education of the country's children and teenagers.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), urged the foundation to enhance public outreach as a charity organization benefitting children and teenagers, so as to strengthen ties between people in China and other countries and regions.

Named after Soong Ching Ling, the wife of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, CSCLF is a Beijing-based foundation focused on caring for the welfare of children and teenagers.
