China factory fire kills 7, injures 2

HANGZHOU - Seven people died and two others were injured when a shoe factory in east China's Zhejiang Province caught fire early Friday, the local police said.
Flames engulfed a temporary workshop of the Xinzhuo Shoe Industry Co. Ltd in Wenling City at 4:47 am, the city's public security bureau said in a press release.
It said the fire spread about 500 square meters, destroying the workshop and charring several homes in the neighborhood.
The two injured were still in hospital, it said without giving details.
The victims are yet to be identified.
The cause of the fire is being probed.
