A young man surnamed Zhang from Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, was so enamored of a woman he had met in cyberspace that he physically assaulted a person who asked her out in real life.

Zhang met Li, the woman, a year ago in an online game. He has since "married" her in an online ceremony, divorced her and then remarried her. He refers to her as his wife.

However, seeing Li out walking with another man, surnamed Wang, on March 5, Zheng got so angry that he and his friends gave Wang a sound thrashing. Zhang is now under investigation, and police are looking for his friends.
