A more humane way of slaughtering pigs has been introduced in Chongqing municipality.

Hi-tech slaughter production lines made in Germany and South Korea have been introduced at the city's Jianqiao Industrial Park.

"During slaughtering, music will be played and the pigs will be sprayed with water. When the pigs are physically relaxed, they will be hit by low voltage electricity that will put them to sleep and eventually death," a worker said.
