With China's rapid development in the era of Internet Plus and Industry 4.0, an Internet Plus Expo will take off in Guangdong in October.

The Expo - the 3rd China (Guangdong) International Internet Plus Exposition (Internet Plus Expo) — will take place on October 12 to 15 in Foshan, Guangdong province, featuring intelligent manufacturing, Internet Plus, e-commerce, innovation and entrepreneurship, and smart home and life.

A total of 650 exhibitors are expected to attend the event, among which 18 percent will come from overseas.

According to the data from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in the first half of 2017, added value of companies above the designated scale in the electronic information manufacturing industry in China surged 13.9 percent year-on-year, growing much faster than the whole industry level, which is 7 percent.

Meanwhile, the nation's internet and related industries are evolving at a rapid pace. Sales revenues in the sector amounted to 284.3 billion ($43.4 billion), 24.9 percent higher than the same period last year.

In 2015, the State Council issued a guideline on boosting the development of Internet Plus, suggesting that the advantages in scale and applications in the area should be enhanced, and that the area should evolve towards market demands, as well as towards the goal of achieving integrative development in all industries.

"Guangdong province, as a leader in the Pearl River Delta, is rich in traditional manufacturing enterprises. Besides, it is also one of China's important windows opening to the outside world," said Shen Qian, deputy manager of Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd, the Chinese branch of a Germany company who offered support to the expo.

"With the initiation of 'Made in China 2025' as well as 'Internet Plus', Guangdong has great potential to take the lead of transforming into a province major in intelligent manufacturing. This is why we choose Guangdong," Shen added.

Official statistics show that "Internet Plus" economy of Guangdong grew fastest across China in 2016, presenting a strong momentum in smart livelihood areas such as medical treatment and education.

Supported by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd, the expo absorbed the core resources from CeBit, the world's biggest computer and software fair in Hannover, Germany. With an over 1,000 square meters exhibition area from overseas companies, companies from home and abroad may have better opportunities to have communications and cooperation in technology and innovation.

"Cross-border e-commerce has entered into a fast-growing era, embracing different business modes. With the expo, resources from China and the rest of the world can be easily connected and integrated, benefiting the development of cross-border e-commerce," Tan Hui, business management director of Jodin Agel E-commerce Co Ltd.
