Following a series of 35 surgeries, she retained the hands, but she lost all the fingers in the left hand and three in the right hand. Her left hand fingers were clipped and she has only the ring and the little finger in her right hand.
"I was in extreme despair then. With two children to raise, I was at a complete loss as to what to do," she said.
