As China becomes a hotbed for MBA and EMBA courses, a new business school model, called GEMBA, or Global Executive MBA, has been launched.

The New Huadu Business School GEMBA program was launched in Beijing on Wednesday. The new program will send Chinese students to Switzerland to finish their 24-month courses, in a bid to cultivate domestic management talent with a global vision.

The GEMBA program provides a platform which will play an important role to bridge the economic development gap between China and Switzerland and even the world, said Jacques de Watteville, Switzerland’s ambassador to China, at the opening ceremony.

Professor He Zhiyi, the chairman of the New Huadu Business School, said New Huadu is the first Chinese business school established abroad.

He added the program also builds a communication bridge for Chinese multinational companies and the world, which will help these companies to integrate in the world faster and better.

Industry experts said that as the balance of global economic power continues to shift east, there is also a shifting trend of world elites, together with choices of business schools, to meet the surging talent demand in the country.
