Microblog Insights--Jul 19

Topic 1:

A long flight delay was broadcast via micro blogs recently, attracting much public interest. Flight delays have become common nationwide and passengers who frequently travel by airplane have experienced the disruption on more than one occasion on average. Currently, it is not unusual for flight passengers to encounter a flight delay of two to three hours. Many now wonder what can be done to about the situation.

BIG SEA TURTLEA: It is quite necessary for our nation to develop high-speed railways, as competition is indispensable in the market.

MR535: It is not normal for the flight to take off on time right now. I have experienced two unforgettable flight delays. One was six hours late and the other was three hours.

DCHONGCHONGGE: Airlines usually use excuses such as air traffic control to explain the reason for delays to passengers but, in fact, it is their fault in failing to arrange the flights well, and it is an internal problem. When passengers are caught up in this situation, there is never compensation. Moreover, no department seems willing to tackle the problem.

Topic 2:

Although the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway went into operation on June 30, it was reported that five malfunctions have occurred in the past two weeks. Officials from the Ministry of Railways apologized for the first three delays during an online chat hosted by people.com.cn on July 14, and also pledged better high-speed operations. Micro-bloggers also expressed their opinions on this issue.

YIZAIBUYAN: We don't require the train to be that fast. All we want is safety and stability.

HUANGJIANZE: Experts said that the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is the safest high-speed railway in the world, but a couple of incidents happened in half a month. Nowadays, so-called experts' remarks are not really believable.

YUEYU: I took the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway today. Luckily, I didn't encounter any malfunction or delay, and the entire trip experience was very comfortable.

THIS ISN'T A SUCCESS: I think the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway should review itself significantly, as its safety concerns people's lives.
