As a country with a rich history and splendid civilization, China has witnessed the passing down of numerous forms of intangible cultural heritage which continue to flourish today. China Daily recently launched the documentary series Revival of Ancient Arts, filming inheritors and modern artists who are dedicated to preserving and reviving ancient arts.

Ceramics, a centuries-old art that has a long history in China, stands as a testament to the enduring creativity and cultural heritage of the Chinese people. Over the years, the national intangible heritage of ceramic-making techniques has been passed down and evolved. The first episode delves into the rich cultural legacy of ceramics and highlights how artisans working today continue to innovate and push the boundaries of this art form, using traditional techniques as well as exploring new methods and materials.

In this episode, inheritors and artists who live in or hail from Jingdezhen, known as China's porcelain capital, in East China's Jiangxi province, present how ceramic art is made and created, share their insights into developing traditional ceramic art as well as their commitment to preserving and reviving the ancient techniques of ceramic making through practical efforts.
