The Philadelphia Orchestra recently paid a visit to China to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its first trip to China in 1973. US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns recalled at an event on Wednesday how he watched the orchestra's historic arrival with his parents when he was 17. Music builds bridges, he said.
