President's bilateral meetings underscore deep collaboration

Malawi

President Xi Jinping said China supports Malawi in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions, and stands ready to continuously offer whatever help China can to the country in its socioeconomic development.
China hopes the two countries will continue to support each other on issues of their core interests and major concerns, Xi said when meeting with his Malawian counterpart Lazarus Chakwera on Thursday.
Xi said that he hopes China and Malawi will promote practical cooperation to achieve new results and push for new development of bilateral relations.
China is ready to strengthen solidarity and cooperation with Malawi and other developing countries to make the international order fairer and more equitable, he said.
Noting that China always promptly lends a helping hand when Malawi faces difficulties, Chakwera said that Beijing is a real friend, brother and partner for his country.
He said Malawi firmly adheres to the one-China policy.
The Belt and Road Initiative helps developing countries to achieve common development, he said, adding that Malawi would like to continue to strengthen friendship and cooperation with China.
