The Dutch chip-making equipment giant ASML Holding NV said in a statement to China Daily on Thursday that it is not redesigning a system specifically for China and it complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
The comments came as media reported that ASML tried to roll out systems specifically for China after the Netherlands announced last week a set of new regulations to restrict the export of certain advanced chipmaking equipment by aligning its trade rules with the US strategy of curbing China's ability to make advanced semiconductors.
