Lujiazui hosts patriotism-themed art exhibition

A patriotism-themed painting and calligraphy exhibition kicked off at Lujiazui art gallery in Pudong New Area of Shanghai on Nov 11, with more than 200 people attending the opening ceremony.

A total of 130 paintings and calligraphy works are on display, 70 of which are by Weilai Wudao, vice president of the Overseas Chinese Painting Academy of China. His works include poems to praise the country's provinces, cities and autonomous regions such as Ode to Beijing, Ode to Jiangsu, and Ode to Hong Kong as well as a group of paintings.

Some 30 works are from Wang Hongyi, member of the China Artists Association, and another 30 were created by Yang Fangbao, a top Chinese painter who excels at drawing flowers and birds.

The exhibition will run until Nov 18 and is open to the public at no charge.
