More than 500 publishers from all over the country took part in the 2016 Shanghai Book Fair held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, Aug 17-23, putting over 150,000 books on show.
Themed "Love Reading, Love Life", the week-long event seeks to inspire enthusiasm for reading as well as promote exhibited books. More than 700 reading-related activities will be held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center and other venues.
Highlights of this year's fair include the International Literature Week, the International Poetry Festival, and a 3-D audiobook exhibition.
International Literature Week

Over 40 well-known writers and scholars from China and abroad have been invited to the event, and will attend more than 50 literature talks, symposiums, and salons. They will also give speeches and meet with their readers.
Svetlana Alexandravna Alexievich, winner of 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature, will attend the event, complete with the Chinese version of her latest book named "Secondhand Time: The Last of the Soviets".
