Located in Shanghai's financial hub Lujaizui, the Shanghai Tower is a new landmark of the city.

At 632 meters high, the building is currently the tallest in China and the second tallest in the world, surpassed only by the 828-meter Burj Khalifa tower in Dubai. It has 132 stories and covers a total floor area of 578,000 square meters.

The building is multifunctional with integration of office areas, hotels, convention and exhibition areas, sightseeing and entertainment sectors and commercial areas.

It also features its unique green architectural design. The glass façade has a 120-degree twist to reduce the wind loads on the building by 24 percent. The wind turbines near the top can generate up to 1.19 million kWh of supplementary electric power each year, while the rainwater collector at the very top can recycle 20,000 cubic meters of rainwater every year.

It received a green architecture certificate from the US Green Building Council, an organization known for its green building rating systems with headquarters in the city of Washington, US, on Nov 27, 2015.
