A five-day calligraphy exhibition opened at the Pudong Library, in the Pudong New District of Shanghai, on Oct 5, which brought in works by 104 calligraphers who are members of the Pudong Calligraphers Association, which sponsored the event as a part of the 2015 Pudong Culture and Art Festival.

The works cover poetry, the classics, and couplets in various styles, such as kaishu (regular script), caoshu (cursive script), xingshu (semi-cursive script) and zhuanshu (seal script), to show the development and diversity of local calligraphers and their love of Pudong.

The Pudong Calligraphers Association was founded in 1994 and now has more than 200 members committed to preserving and introducing calligraphic art to more people.
