Jiading launches COVID-19 vaccination program for expats

( english.jiading.gov.cn ) 2021-03-30

Jiading district in East China's Shanghai started a voluntary COVID-19 vaccination program for expats living in the district from March 29.

The inactivated vaccines were produced by Chinese companies, and each person will receive two doses of a vaccine.

Foreigners who have opted into the local health insurance program can receive the two-shot vaccine free of charge just like Chinese citizens. Otherwise, they can get the vaccine at 100 yuan ($15) per dose.

There are two places in Jiading that are offering COVID-19 vaccine shots, and expats can make an appointment through the Health Cloud app. They are asked to fill in their personal information on the service page of the app, as well as take along their permanent residence identity card, passport or valid residence permit to the vaccination sites.
