As the first wisteria-themed park in China, Jiading Wisteria Park has become a must-go place for many people. Endless streams of tourists visit there every April. Now, a new wisteria cultural park is being constructed in Jiading, Shanghai and is scheduled to open in June, according to local media.

A piece of green space located on the east of Pantuozi Park on Huancheng Road will be constructed as a new leisure park integrating historical culture and wisteria. It is nearly 7,000 square meters larger than the current Jiading Wisteria Park.

Covering an area of about 21,600 square meters, the new cultural park consists of an entrance display area, a waterfront space and a central garden area. The infrastructure construction of the water pump station used for the maintenance of the garden has been completed, and the construction of the main wisteria corridor in the park will begin immediately.

The 124-meter-long wisteria corridor will be a highlight. When wisteria season arrives each year, the old and the new parks, part of the green belt along the river that rings the city, will echo each other, forming a beautiful wisteria belt.
