Jiangqiao residents to receive better healthcare facilities

With the aim of giving local residents better medical services, the Jiangqiao community healthcare service center, Jiading district of Shanghai has reached a deal on osteoarthrosis treatment with the city's Changzheng Hospital recently, local media reported on Jan 7.

As per the agreement, Changzheng hospital will give support to the community health service center in osteoarthrosis diagnosis and treatment and scientific research. It will send its leading doctors to Jiangqiao to offer medical treatment to locals. And patients with difficult and complicated diseases can be transferred to Changzheng for better treatment.

Leaders with the Changzheng hospital said that this cooperation was in line with the city's plan to set up a basic healthcare network covering urban and rural residents. "It will help improve the medical service in Jiangqiao and alleviate the residents' difficulty of getting medical treatment," they added.

The Changzheng hospital is affiliated to the Shanghai Second Military Medical University. It is rated as a third level grade A hospital. The hospital boasts a large number of talented personnel, such as an academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a "Cheung Kong Scholar", a title which recognizes the country's leading scientists in some frontier sectors.
